Frequently Asked Questions
What is Unity used for?
Unity is a professional real-time 3D engine used to create games, interactive experiences, VR and AR applications, simulations and architectural visualisations for PC, mobile, console and the web.
Is Unity suitable for complete beginners?
Yes. Our Unity training includes options for complete beginners as well as intermediate users. Beginners start with the interface, scenes, assets and basic interactions, and progress to lighting, physics, animation and C# scripting.
Do I need previous coding or game design experience?
No previous experience is required for beginner-level training. If you already use Unity, your training can focus on the areas you want to improve rather than starting from the beginning. LDTC training is personalised and project-focused.
What will I learn on a Unity course?
Depending on the course you choose, you can learn the Unity editor, scenes and prefabs, importing assets, materials and lighting, physics, animation, user interfaces, C# scripting basics and building your project for different platforms.
Can I use Unity with 3ds Max and Blender?
Yes. Unity works well with 3D software such as 3ds Max and Blender, so you can import your own models, textures and animations into your scenes.
Can I learn Unity on a Mac?
Yes. Unity runs on both Windows and macOS. Our Unity courses are delivered as live online training, so you will need a computer with Unity installed and a stable internet connection, and you will be able to access control to our screen and use the software at the same time as us.
What support will I receive after my Unity training?

Current Unity training includes lifetime email support, and LDTC states that students can keep their work files and lesson recordings for future revision. LDTC also highlights handouts and supporting course documents.
Will I receive a certificate after my Unity course?
Yes. Course completion includes a certificate, and LDTC also provides additional support depending on the course, including lesson materials and ongoing email support.
