Frequently Asked Questions
What is Rhino used for?
Rhino 3D (Rhinoceros) is professional 3D modelling software used for precise freeform design. It is widely used in architecture, product and industrial design, jewellery design, marine design and for preparing models for 3D printing and fabrication.
Is Rhino suitable for complete beginners?
Yes. Our Rhino training includes options for complete beginners as well as intermediate and advanced users. Beginners start with the interface, navigation and core 2D and 3D tools before progressing to surfaces, solids, SubD modelling and rendering.
Do I need previous 3D experience?
No previous 3D experience is required for beginner-level training. If you already have experience with Rhino or another 3D package, your training can focus on the areas you want to improve rather than starting from the beginning. LDTC training is personalised and project-focused.
What will I learn on a Rhino course?
Depending on the course you choose, you can learn 2D drafting, curves, NURBS surfaces and solids, SubD modelling, layouts and drawings, and rendering. LDTC also offers specialist courses such as V-Ray for Rhino, Rhino for jewellery design and Rhino evening training.
Can I learn Rhino for architecture and product design?
Yes. Rhino is particularly useful for architectural forms and product design. Training can cover modelling buildings, facades and products, creating accurate drawings, and producing professional rendered images with V-Ray.
Can I learn Rhino on a Mac?
Yes. Rhino runs on both Windows and macOS, and LDTC offers a dedicated Rhino for Mac course. For in-person training, suitable computers are provided at the training centre. For live online training, you will be able to access control to our screen and use the software at the same time as us.

What support will I receive after my Rhino training?
Current Rhino training includes lifetime email support, and LDTC states that students can keep their work files and lesson recordings for future revision. LDTC also highlights handouts and supporting course documents.
Will I receive a certificate after my Rhino course?
Yes. Course completion includes a certificate, and LDTC also provides additional support depending on the course, including lesson materials and ongoing email support.
